Yarn Magazine PREVIEWS Autumn 2010 – Sydney editorial commercial photographer
March 8, 2010 | Category: commercial | 5 Comments
With the release of the latest issue of Yarn magazine, I can finally show you some previews from the shoot we did back in January!
It was such a HOT HOT HOT day to be shooting cold-weather stuff, and oooh the sun was harsh even though we were shooting into the late afternoon.

If you are interested in knitting these patterns (all by Australian designers!) then make sure you pick up a copy of the latest issue of YARN magazine.

Bettsy Kingston and Grace Designs – Sydney Bankstown Child Photography
March 5, 2010 | Category: babies, commercial, kids | 19 Comments
These adorable little jackets were designed by Bettsy Kingston, who makes FABULOUS outfits and also sells her patterns so you can make your own! How cool is that?! I loved the modern twist on a slightly vintage design the jackets have. Cool bonus? You get two looks in one as they are reversible!

See? two looks in one!

I have some gorgeous hair pretties that I am in the process of photographing for Grace Designs. This is one of Ros’ newest designs, and works so wonderfully with the jacket by Bettsy Kingston don’t you think? It is super soft and fluffy.

Yup, there’s two looks in one on this jacket too!

Tied around her waist in this shot is another one of Grace Designs headbands. I thought it looked rather cute as a little belt ![]()

Oooh I just realised it’s the weekend tomorrow, yay! Enjoy it

This gorgeous little family of three (soon to be four!) let me use them as examples on day one of the mentoring I did for someone over the weekend. The Mum is none other than Ros of Grace Designs. I can’t wait to photograph the new little bean in a few months time
Miss “A” did not want to keep still at all – she was there to run run run and play play play. She’s so cute though, so I didn’t hold it against her.

Total “all about me” expression ![]()

Last week I photographed my beautiful friend (who also happens to be a fantastic photographer) Gemma.

After a full week of rain and humid weather, the mosquitos were out in FULL FORCE and we got bitten to pieces getting these photos, but I think the result was well worth it. The flowers were a (super) last minute addition (so glad you grabbed them Gemma!)

Here is Zoe modelling an adorable headband for Grace Designs. Rosalind of Grace Designs makes the most gorgeous hair pretties. She hand-pieces and creates them herself, so they’re always unique. We have more to photograph, but this is the first one. I think it looks totally sweet on Zoe.

And just because, another one of Zoe that I just love.

Joel + Heather PART TWO
February 11, 2010 | Category: not kids | 14 Comments
Following on from PART ONE of Joel and Heather’s wedding. And can I just say, it is extremely hard to be photographer, sister, AND have your husband and five children along for the ride? Not to mention my oldest daughter being one of the flowergirls. HUGE thankyou to my fantastic husband Matt and my kids for being so patient during a very long day (and night!). I also need to thank my good friend Gemma, who flew up from Melbourne to shoot the wedding with me. You’re RAD Gemma

Before you ask, NO I am not going to start shooting more weddings
However, seeing as how Joel is my brother, I of course was more than thrilled to be asked to photograph Joel and Heather’s wedding. It was all set to be a stunning beach wedding at Woolongong, however on the day it POURED with rain and the wind went crazy! Plans were changed several times, and in the end the ceremony and reception were both held at the rather lovely (but extremely WET thanks to the rain!) Burham Grove reception. Originally we had planned a couple of hours to shoot bridals at the beach and around Woolongong after the ceremony, but because of the weather we had to shoot fast (and try not to get soaked!) at the reception location. Lucky it was pretty
Sooo enjoy part one

So then we left the girls for a little while and went to see what the boys were doing…

I think he was a little excited ![]()

Stay tuned for more to come in the next day from the ceremony and bridals!
