Someone new and oh so fluffy!

January 4, 2012 | Category: not kids | 8 Comments

Seriously, when this little guy arrived, it was all I could do not to squeal “It’s so FLUFFY!!!” at the top of my lungs. This little guy is my new English Angora bunny. He’s 8 weeks old and just arrived after a long 6 hour drive (courtesy my fantastic little brother). I am not sure what to call him yet, but I couldn’t resist sharing some photos of this little bundle of fluffiness.

He is my new little companion (although “little” might not be the right word… he will be bigger than my tiny little pomeranian, Koda, once he’s full grown!) and as he gets bigger, I’ll be collecting his gorgeous angora coat to spin into yarn, too.

There is nothing cuter than a little stack of vintage children’s books. My kids love to read, and we’ve been searching for some particular Enid Blyton books for my 6 year old son for a little while. My sister in law was lucky enough to be given a box of old books, and in it was a bunch of EB books that she kindly passed on to us. Until he’s ready to read them, they make a lovely decoration/photo prop in my house hehe. So what do I do when I have a stack of cute little books I’d love to photograph, but the energy levels of a 34 week pregnant woman (which is to say, pretty much zero) and no time? Grab the cutest Pomeranian puppy in the world and photograph away for a few short minutes and call it good!

Sneaky peek into what the studio looks like right now! I posted some “in progress” shots of it being built to our Facebook page. It will likely not be 100% complete for another month or so though!

And just another quick reminder – I am currently on maternity leave, unable to take on clients. When I “return” I will only be taking on newborn clients in the studio (I hope this to be around mid to late March). Newborns need to be photographed before two weeks of age.

Sweet little Zoey reminded me sooo much of my own Zoe at the same age. Smiley and happy as anything, until I pulled out the camera, and then she was all seriousness no matter what we tried! I love little babies with serious expressions, I find it kind of hilarious. Besides, serious or not, miss Zoey is just as cute as can be and being the youngest daughter of one my darling (and seriously amazing) friends, makes her even more special to me. Little Zoey is lucky #9 for the B family, and she couldn’t have been born into a lovelier bunch. Zoey is the cover star for my Elf Knots pattern (see this post).

Check out this expression! Oh my gosh, when I opened up this photo I laughed so much. I’m not that terrible a photographer, am I miss Zoey?! hehe.

Do you tutto? If not, you should. Not only are they THE cutest modern cloth nappies in the world, but they fit fabulously and feel wonderfully soft thanks to their snuggly minkee outers.

P.s I never hang my nappies on the line this way normally. I was taking artistic licence for the photos. Hang them length-ways so the elastic doesn’t stretch out :)
