New pattern: The Evie Bonnet
June 14, 2012 | Category: babies
The newest pattern to join my collection is the sweet “Evie Bonnet”. A charming vintage inspired and wonderfully fluffy bonnet that you can embellish with your favourite ribbons and lace.
Easy enough for beginners and absolute perfection as a photography prop! In fact, I designed this pattern when I was pregnant with Piper primarily because I wanted something ridiculously fluffy and decadent for the photographs I took of her as a newborn. Although I think this works best as a prop, it is also lovely as a “normal” hat, just maybe a little impractical.
You can purchase the Evie Bonnet pattern for $5.00AUD as an immediate PDF download.

You will need a 4.5mm circular needle & set of double point needles.
1 skein of Aslan Trends Invernal
OR
1 – 3 balls of Plymouth yarn Angora.
Ribbon of your choice.
Pattern covers sizes true newborn to toddler.
(Please never leave a baby alone with this hat on).
Want to know why I called it the “Evie” bonnet? Piper’s middle name is Evangeline (evie!) and Evie was a HIGH contender in the name stakes before she was born. It seems to be rather vintagey itself too, which I found rather fitting.
Not a knitter? I will be offering some of these bonnets, hand-knit by myself, in my etsy store soon.

Magical eyes!
Love the bonnet and the pictures – so beautiful!
Gorgeous! I LOVE the name Evie (and Eve) too. But alas, “Evie Evans” would not have worked. Great images and lovely pattern, must give knitting a try again.
