One-on-one mentoring part 2

December 23, 2009 | Category: kids

On the second day of mentoring, I showed Bek how to find and “see” light (as well as a few other things). The different kinds of light I like to work with, different ways to use it. We were blessed with both bright afternoon sun AND super overcast skies as the weather quickly changed, so I was able to show her a variety of ways I use and see light! It is so interesting to me to literally watch the “aha” moment happen, when I show someone how it is done (well, how I do it anyway!).

A couple of my shots – Same spot, different light.

Maddy’s gorgeous dress is from Charlipop Kids!

Also, can anyone BELIEVE it is the night before Christmas Eve??! Oh my goodness… I have not even started wrapping presents… not looking forward to that job. I suspect I’ll be up until 3 in the morning Christmas Day.

We have one more day here :-) but yes, I cannot believe it’s snuck up so fast! Good luck on the wrapping – my least-favorite part!

That lucky girl! How is Bek? Haven’t seen or heard much from her for a while now.

Also, that dress is just ridiculously beautiful. Happy holidays love!

    Thanks :)

Jess – it’s not the Bec you know (as in Brittliffe). This is my cousin who lives in New Zealand! I hadn’t see her for a little over 5 years previous. So fun.

    Hi Amanda

I have just discovered (and stalked) your website and blog and am totally in love with ALL your photos!! So beautiful, love all the lighting.

Do you often conduct one-on-one mentoring? If so I’d be interested to hear a bit more about it. I just purchased myself a new camera and am looking into lessons/workshops.

    Let me know x
